Formerly of Parkland College Radio, WPCD 88.7FM in the Champaign-Urbana market, I'm the Loose Cannon Greg Brannan. I'm an Earth, Society, and Environmental Sustainability major at The University of Illinois with the intention of minoring in Journalism and writing about environmental issues with as little bias as possible.
Simultaneously, I am U of I staff, working as an Office Support Specialist for The Illinois Fire Service Institute (IFSI) I like to joke that I count how many times we set the building on fire and successfully put it out! The serious explanation is I keep track of Illinois firefighter's training and certifications and am the liason with the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal (OSFM) Personnel Standards and Training (PS&E) Division. Established by statute, IFSI is the largest fire academy in Illinois. While we are separate from OSFM, we enjoy a good working relationship and make the process of training and certifying firefighters as seamless as possible so that our students can focus on learning how to fight fire. IFSI is also nationally accredited by The National Fire Academy, Pro Board and IFSAC
